Never Get Over

Pass me the knife
The sharp, sharp knife
Slide it across my skin
Let you hear me wince
Let me feel the pain
While you sit and smirk
I'll wait for you to lose your mind
Before I finally use the rocks you pelted me with
To sharpen the now blunt knife
(i scraped the floor your name and mine)
And finally, finally cut the tie
The translucent string weighing heavy like chains
Tying me to your ring finger
The finger our ring resides on
The finger a vein to the heart lays
Human's weakest finger
But you still manage to puppet me on
And when the sound of air sliced into halves I let out a sigh
Floods of tears rush down, stroking my face the way only you knew how
And even as now I hear you whimper silently
I am able to drag my feet away

And these thoughts are occuring
As I see you talking to her
I'm overly attached
Let me cut this tie
You are not hurting me
i'm hurting myself
